5-6 Clinic – Official Rules

This age group is appropriate for players that have at least one year of experience/played in a spring season as this is considered a “advanced” skill group for their age.

Practice/Game Days of the Week

  • Tuesday OR Thursday OR Friday AND Sunday afternoon.

Equipment

  • Each child provided with team jersey, hat and socks by program.

  • You must supply glove, cleats, and baseball pants (gray recommended). Additionally, a cup is required for those playing catcher.

  • Helmets and bats are optional but recommended: you may use team provided bat and/or helmet if you do not purchase your own.

Games

  • Players receive 6 pitches and if no contact/hit, the tee is brought out for them to get on base.

  • Coaches will make a point to teach the positions on the field so players become familiar with the names and locations of which they should play.

  • Outs are made but not recorded. Entire lineup bats each inning.

  • Runners advance one base at a time unless a ball is hit into the outfield grass.  Runners may run 2 bases if that happens.

  • Fielding team throws to first base on batted balls that stay in the infield.  Throw to the lead base for batted balls that go to the outfield.

  • 60 minute game time limit / 3-4 total innings
